Anyone who has been knitting for any length of time will find themselves with little remnants of yarn left over from old projects. What to do with these? There is not enough to do anything large, and I have made enough scarves for my entire family three times over. Its winter and I want to knit but I do not want to buy anymore yarn when I have boxes of odd skeins lying all around.

Surely, I thought, there must be some babies someplace that need scarves, mittens and maybe even a tiny sweater. I Goggled "charity knit" and was amazed at all the places I found that are seeking contributions of clothes and even just yarn, if you do not actually feel like knitting something up.
